Dave Obey
Bio | Born in Oklahoma and raised in Wisconsin, Obey attended the University of Wisconsin, receiving his BA in Political Science. Before he served in Congress, he worked in real estate for a period of time. In the 1960s, he became a part of the Wisconsin State Assembly. From the years 1969-2011, he was a member of the United States House of Representatives from Wisconsin’s 7th District. During his time in the House of Representatives, he was a member and chair of the House Appropriations Committee from 1995-2011. |
