Dick Clark
Bio | Born in 1928, Clark attended the University of Maryland, University of Frankfurt, Upper Iowa University, and completed his master’s at the University of Iowa. He was serving in the Army during many of his educational years. Clark served as a Senator from 1971-1979. He served many different positions throughout his political career. Clark put his name to the Clark Amendment during his time as a senator which restricted United States aid to private military companies and groups in Angola. After Clark lost re-election, he was appointed an ambassador by President Carter. He served as the United States Coordinator of Refugee Affairs. He also served roles within the Aspen Institute for Humanistic Studies. |
