Howell Heflin
Bio | Howell Heflin was an American Democratic politician and veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps who served as a U.S. Senator for the state of Alabama from 1979 to 1997. During his time in the Senate, Heflin served as the Chair of the Senate Ethics Committee from 1987 to 1992. Prior to this, Heflin served as the 24th Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Alabama from 1971 to 1977. Heflin passed away in 2005. |
