Few presidents have had moments as our 43rd has. While one can chalk these moments up to human error or general incompetence, I am here to tell you that there is much more complexity to the psyche of George W Bush.
1. Movement & Pride
During a press conference in 2008, an Iraqi journalist felt the need to stand up and launch both of his shoes at George W. Bush, the sitting president at the time. While some may see a man with above-average reflexes. I see a bold man rising up to the occasion and displaying a true American spirit. The former president could have kept his head down after the first shoe. However Bush, in a display of bravado raised his head and locked eyes with the Iraqi journalist. And while he looked through the reporter’s soul and effortlessly evaded contact with the man’s shoes. It was clear to Bush and the American people who had won this exchange

2. No Excuses
It was in the former president’s 2006 rose garden address, that he asked a legally blind reporter
“Are you going to ask that question with shades on?”
He was quick to apologize after the fact claiming he was unaware of the condition and the reporter himself being a good sport about it. Make no mistakes however, George W. Bush knew very well that the reporter was blind and was simply making an effort to keep his best interests at heart. Bush is a man who believes in progress through struggle. Cant walk right? Drop the cane. Can’t swim? Take off the life jacket. Can’t see? Well, take off the glasses. It is this tough love that the former president tried directing at this unfortunate reporter if only he had been more receptive

3. Powerful & Concise Vocabulary
“I think war is a dangerous place.”
― George W. Bush
“So long as I’m the president, my measure of success is victory — and success.”
–On Iraq, in Washington, D.C., on April 17, 2008
“You teach a child to read, and he or she will be able to pass a literacy test.”
― George W. Bush
This one is rather self-explanatory
4. Quality Assurance
There are a variety of ways the former president could have tested the sturdiness of Marine One, however, George W Bush is a man who believes that if you want something done right you do it yourself. And in the 43rd president’s mind, few objects could match the force his skull and neck muscles could produce as he slammed his head “accidentally” while entering the aircraft. A then satisfied Bush waves at the crowd and heads on his way. There was simply no better way to make sure the vehicle was flight-ready.

5. Man’s Best Friend
The faces were worn by the young softball team as Bush dropped his dog Barney shows plenty of how horrified the girls were. This was equally as shocking to the former president as he had been made aware during his initial debriefing that the C.I.A issued dogs had the capability of flight. If only someone had told him this was a classified matter and Barney was far too well trained to blow his cover on national television.
