David L. Boren

Bio

Boren was born in Washington D.C. He went on to attend Yale University and receiving his master’s degree from Oxford University. From 1967-1975, he was a member of the Oklahoma House of Representatives. During his time, he was in the Oklahoma Army National Guard. Boren later successfully ran for Governor and became the 21st Governor of Oklahoma. He remained governor from 1975-1979 when he was elected a United States Senator from Oklahoma. He remained incumbent in this position from 1979-1994. In 1994, he became the 13 President of the University of Oklahoma and held this position until 2018. From the years 2009-2013, he served as Chair of the President’s Intelligence Advisory Board.
