Bio

DeGette was raised in Colorado. She attended Colorado College as well as New York University studying Political Science. Her political career involves having served as a representative and Minority Leader in the Colorado State House of Representatives. She eventually went on to become the Democratic Floor Whip in the US House of Representatives. DeGette has served as the Democratic Chief Deputy Whip since 2005.
