Donald Riegle

Bio

Born in Michigan, Riegle attended Flint Junior College, Western Michigan University, and Michigan University. He received his M.B.A. From Michigan State University shortly after. He worked as a professor for several schools before being elected a member of the United States House of Representatives from Michigan’s 7th District. He served from 1967-1976 when he was elected a United States Senator from Michigan where he remained incumbent until 1995. During his time in the Senate, he served as Chair of the Senate Banking Committee for the latter half of his career.
